Shopping with charm in Maresme

The Maresme region offers much more than just beaches and beautiful scenery.  Its streets are filled with shops where you can find everything from the latest fashion trends to mouth-watering local delicacies.

Mataró, the region's capital, has over 1,600 shops and a shopping centre, as well as two indoor town markets and five weekly street markets. In Calella, the Shopping Line stretches for two kilometres through the city centre and has more than 500 shops.  

In Tordera, a market with more than 150 years of history and nearly 300 stalls takes place every Sunday. In Palafolls, you will find fashion outlets offering the latest trends at discounted prices.

Town markets with local products

Fill your basket with the best local produce at the markets of Maresme. You can find them in every town, although the most famous ones are in Mataró: the Rengle Market, known for its Catalan Modernist style, and the Plaça de Cuba Market, which hosts a wide range of culinary activities ranging from tastings to show-cooking sessions and cooking workshops.

Another must-see is the Arenys de Mar market, located in a Catalan Modernist building designed by Ignasi Mas i Morell.

Weekly street markets

There is a different street market waiting for you in the Maresme region every day! With a wide range of products ranging from fresh fruit and vegetables to clothes and accessories, these markets are the ideal place to find local produce, household goods and textiles. 

The Tordera market stands out above all. Get ready for a real journey back in time, as this market has been held every Sunday since 1853! With nearly 300 stalls, it is the perfect place to stroll, shop and enjoy the market atmosphere.

Located in Mataró,  Mataró Parc is much more than just a shopping centre: it's a shopping and entertainment experience for the whole family. With more than 140 shops specialising in fashion, technology and decoration, as well as a wide selection of restaurants and leisure activities, including cinemas and children's play areas, it's the ideal place to spend a different morning or afternoon.

Fairs for all tastes

The Maresme region hosts a wide variety of fairs and markets where you can discover the true essence of the area. From medieval fairs, such as the Forest Fair in Dosrius or the Palafolls Medieval Fair, to antiques and handicrafts fairs and culinary fairs such as the Ulisses Fair in Premià de Dalt or the Culinary Fair in Cabrils.

There are also fairs inspired by the sea, such as Firamar in Sant Pol de Mar, and by the land, such as the Ecofair of Dosrius, as well as Christmas fairs and second-hand markets. A wide range of unique products to discover and buy in the Maresme region.

The private foundation El Molí d'En Puigvert offers a shopping experience with added value.
