The Maresme, protected by the coastal mountains inland and with the Mediterranean Sea as its backbone, has a mild and sunny climate most of the year, ideal for outdoor sports. Just a few kilometres north of the city of Barcelona and close to the Costa Brava, the region is well connected by road and rail.
El Maresme is a destination awareded with the Cicloturisme a Catalunya (Cycling in Catalonia) label by the Catalan Tourism Agency.

All over the Maresme you will find accommodation and specialized services for cyclists, especially in Calella and Santa Susanna, municipalities distinguished with the Cicloturisme a Catalunya and Sports Tourism seal, both from the Catalan Tourism Agency.
