The mission of the Fundació Palau (Foundation Palau) is to preserve, exhibit and disseminate the artistic and documentary collection of Josep Palau i Fabre.

Josep Palau i Fabre is considered one of the most prestigious experts worldwide on the life and work of Picasso, of whom he was also a personal friend.

Poet, playwright, short story writer and essayist, he is one of the great figures in Catalan literature of our times and he connected Catalan culture with the most important artistic movements of the twentieth century.

The permanent exhibition rooms of the Fundació Palau present part of their artistic and documentary collection, and feature a room dedicated entirely to Picasso. Works are also exhibited by other significant artists such as Gargallo, Torres-García and Rebull, who were part of the artistic context of the young Palau i Fabre, and more avant-garde painters like Miró, Clavé, Ponç or the contemporaries Tàpies, Perejaume and Miquel Barceló.
