BTT 15 - Between Montnegre and the coast

The Nature Park of El Montnegre i El Corredor manages the coastal massifs that stretch between the dry watercourse of Argentona and the mouth of the Tordera, the river of the Montseny, thus taking in the Maresme and Vallés regions. Despite the encroachment of built up areas, the abrupt, mountainous region still provides wonderful views of Mediterranean forest landscapes with evergreen oaks and chestnut trees, large farmhouse dwellings and cultivated land that the Park tries to keep in harmonious balance.

The itinerary described here winds upwards over the north-eastern foothills of the Montnegre range between the town of Tordera and the ancient parish town of Hortsavinyà, then descends to the coast at Pineda de Mar and returns to the starting off point by way of Malgrat de Mar and Palafolls, each of whose castles you can visit.
