BTT 5 -From Mataró to Santa Coloma de Gramenet

Magnificent ride between Mataró and Santa Coloma de Gramenet with both landscape and architectural interest, and featuring a sinuous layout and abrupt profile with many ascents and descents. The route crosses the Serralada Litoral and Serralada de Marina parks along tracks and paths in the municipal districts of Mataró, Argentona, Vilassar de Dalt, Premià de Dalt and Tiana, in the Maresme region, and Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet in the Barcelonès.

These parks connect the natural environment of the coast with that of the inland valleys; at the same time, they serve as a green lung and an educational and leisure space for the large Barcelona metropolitan area. Dolmens, Iberian remains, hermitages, monasteries and castles coexist with farmhouses still surrounded by forest while, at the foot of the slopes, modern urban development fills with houses spaces previously occupied by vineyards and cultivated fields.
