Road 8: Santa Susanna - Breda
Road 8: Santa Susanna - Breda
A relatively short and accessible route, combining well with route C4 Santa Susanna-Sant Celoni-Hostalric, which heads NW towards the valley of the River Tordera, and then climbs up to the last of the foothills of the Montseny. There the imposing Montsoriu Castle recalls the strategic importance of the region, as a natural corridor now followed by the railway and motorways, and in days gone by, the Roman Via Augusta. Mention should be made of the climb up to the Coll de n'Orri, with maximum inclines of 8%. For those who have time, the climbs up to Montsoriu Castle and the village of Riells are of particular interest. There are branches off the right beyond the Coll de n'Orri.
