Etapa 4 - Camino de Santiago (Way of St James) Via Marina
The church of Sant Jaume (Sant Pol de Mar) is connected to the Basilica of Santa Maria (Mataró) through a fourth stage of 23 km that takes the pilgrim through the municipalities of Canet de Mar, Arenys de Mar, Caldes d'Estrac, Sant Vicenç de Montalt and Sant Andreu de Llavaneres before reaching Mataró.
In Canet de Mar you can visit the Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu, a hermitage dedicated to the patron saint of the Maresme, while once you arrive in Mataró you can enjoy the legacy of the ancient city of Iluro (public baths, wine cellar, wall...) as well as other vestiges dedicated to the apostle Saint James.
The route has signposts indicating the Camí de Sant Jaume in the sections that run along the coast. However, there are no signposts on the sections where the route diverges from the coast. It is therefore advisable to follow the route with the help of Wikiloc.
