Casa de Cultura del Masnou o Villa Rosa

The current Casa de Cultura was the summer residence of the couple Jaume Sensat i Sanjuan and Rosa Pagès i Orta. The building was renovated between 1900 and 1901 according to the project of the master builder Pere Andreu, embodying the taste for Islamic architecture of the owner, who had spent two years in Egypt.

In 1964, Maria del Carme Planas i Sensat, who inherited the house when the couple died without offspring, bequeathed it to the Masnou City Council on the condition that it be used for cultural purposes.

On the ground floor is the Tourist Office, where you can download the mobile application for the El Masnou itinerary, land of the sea, and a temporary exhibition hall that hosts the annual visual arts program of municipality

On the first floor, the most outstanding works of the municipal art collection are displayed, largely from the donation made by Emili Josep Sala Barbarà in 1969.

You can also see the exuberant modernist decoration of the mural paintings that cover the walls and ceilings, the glazed ceramic fixtures or the hydraulic floors, as well as period furniture.
