La Mirada Tàctil
La Mirada Tàctil (the tactile look): An Experience in Museum Accessibility
Since 2007, the Office of Cultural Heritage has carried out several initiatives aimed at ensuring the accessibility of museums and cultural heritage for all visitors, including those with sensory, physical or cognitive disabilities.
Through the La Mirada Tàctil Program, the multiple ways of communicating the different museum collections have been explored with the aim of making them more accessible. This has been achieved through tactile, auditory and olfactory approaches, as well as through the use of new technologies and analogue resources.
In addition to guaranteeing access to those with disabilities, these actions have enriched visitors' experiences, favoring more personal and emotional experiences with cultural heritage, adapting to the typology and characteristics of the museum's collections.
The participating museums in the program are:
- Municipal Nautical Museum of Masnou
- Premià de Mar Printing Museum
- Archive Museum of Vilassar de Dalt
- Museum of the Cantir of Argentona
- Museum of Mataró. Can Marfà Genre of Point
- Arenys de Mar Museum. Marès de la Punta Museum
- House Museum Lluís Domènech i Montaner
